Learn More

Community

Individual homes built around common areas encouraging community, efficiency and human connection.

FARMING

Sited in farmland to provide ecological farming opportunities for both the community and commercial sale.

EDUCATION

Promoting stewardship of the land through working farm techniques like regenerative agriculture, managed grazing, and silvopasture.

Values

These values form the underpinnings for the project. They serve as overarching concepts which will guide how we are with each other in general and how decisions are made. We are specifically seeking people with whom these values resonate:

1

Autonomy with Shared Responsibility

We are strong believers in personal freedom, and choices that add to collective good.

2

Ecological Stewardship & Resilience

We take care of the earth so the earth can take care of us across generations.

3

Participatory, Democratic Governance

We all are included in action-oriented governance and decision-making.

4

Welcoming Diversity

We are creating a diverse community with an inclusive culture.

5

Meaningful Work

An opportunity to live a life that is deeply satisfying.

The Project

We aim to build a co-housing style residential community in Western Washington designed for healthy living, connecting with nature and one another, and member-run microenterprises, all within the context of the permaculture ethics of earth care, people care, and fair shares.

We spent a couple years searching for property that met the following basic search parameters:

Within 2(ish) hours of Seattle / West of the Cascades

Acreage/Zoning that will allow the project to happen

Above 100’ elevation

At least partially cleared land with some south-facing slopes

Access to adequate water for domestic and agricultural use

We located an eligible property and got it under contract in early Fall, 2019. It is over 200 acres of agricultural land about an hour north of Seattle at 300' of elevation. We are currently working with the county and various consultants to verify that our dream project can come true in this location. The final decision will be made by the end of June, 2020.

Current needs: We are currently seeking people to join our team. If helping to realize this vision from the ground up sounds interesting to you, please sign up for our mailing list, and for an online orientation session. We’re excited to have you join!
